Trash Talk About Anything and Everything

by pfig Question by Case: Do the people who attack “socialism” really hate socialism or is it state capitalism they despise? Since all previous regimes that called themselves “socialist” were clearly state capitalism, perhaps they should be directing their anger at that. I’m socialist and I do not support big government. I support the abolition of governments worldwide and the establishment of a resource-based society that fosters community well being while ensuring the development of the individual as well. There is no coercion by either government nor by economics. There is no exploitation. It is a society in which all people pursue their own desires that ultimately benefit the community, and all resources are used much more efficiently than the waste that is inevitable under a profit-based system. Therefore we will not produce items that do not intend to last, cause severe environmental damage, while neglecting the starving people of potential resource More...

Question by Pookie: Aren’t radical Muslims and moderate Muslims really very similar? I mean both of them think they represent “true Islam”. They both look forward to Islamic rule of the earth. They want the world to convert to Islam and everyone to follow the Quran. They both see western civilization as corrupt and doomed to failure. The only difference is that moderates think they can live in harmony with the west until the west recognizes their errors and convert to Islam. The radicals think that Muslims cannot live in harmony with the west without being corrupted by them. So they take a more proactive opposition to the west. Do you agree? Oh, I forgot to mention that my exposure to “moderate” Muslims is from living in Saudi Arabia for 7 years. Best answer: Answer by Hazy Crazy Music Ladyah religion. Question by Baby Girl x3: My roommate is really beginning to bug my nerves. What do I do? At first we both really liked each other. We’re both a little on the quiet/shy side, but she is more of an extreme introvert. She doesn’t like to socialize at all, she doesn’t take care of her image, and she’s a stuck up smart ass. Everything was cool, y’know? But then she got a little too comfortable with her smart ass comments, and I don’t take that very well seeing as how its just plain rude. I’m from the city and she’s from the country. She’s very book smart, I can say that, but other than that she is extremely naive, ignorant, close-minded, etc. It frustrates the living shit out of me. I share some of my views with her and she called me a nut, but when she shares her views, I totally respect it and comment without bashing her views. Also, since she’s socially awkward and “scared of people” as she says, she uses me to acco More...

I’m really worried about this country?

by pierre pouliquin Question by secretservice: I’m really worried about this country? Just coming on here every day you can see the division in this country is so nasty. People just cling to one side, never take any sort of look at the other side, and just throw the nastiest rhetoric around. I mean its good to have a wide range of strong opinions but there is just no respect for the other side. Its sad really. No one will trust anything that doesn’t support their side, any media, so they just listen to pundits that support their views, everything else is “biased”. I can’t believe that these pundits are getting more attention and more respect than objective journalists. That’s really not good for the country, if it stays like this we’re just going to be 50-50 red states here blue states there forever. Seriously I used to love politics I used to really want to be a reporter but if its just going to be like this I don’t see the point. It ge More...
